Hi Concerned Citizen, and welcome. Can you give us some more details? For example, is Superior a name as opposed to a designation? Is a national forest within a parks system, or some other conservation plan? What are some of the values that would be lost, etc.? (Wildlife, water quality, noise levels, waterfowl nesting,?)
I think as important as why is the national forest service doing something like this, is how are they doing this, are they not contravening a whole raft of requirements? Does bringing in a bill for legislative approval make an effective bypass for the mining outfit?
What environmental organizations are working on this and what are the economic arguments in favour?
