Default Outing the oilout man

Hello Claire, oh worthy forum inspector of verities, nil illegitimati carborundum.

What do I do? I am mainly a geologist, whatever that means, and have been for the last 36 years. Sometimes I’ve found coal and copper and gold, which is what I was paid to do. No oil, never looked for that. Who pays me now? No-one. I’m living on my savings, my own land and subsistence crops. I’ve worked for myself or been hired to do about 40 other jobs, in between the geology ones -.environmentalist, seaman, factory hand, unionist, company director, farm hand, nurseryman, T.A on high-rise lifts, junk shop owner, diver, etc. Even swung a pick on a railway line for a day (not fired, it was a one day job). Built and sold an electric bike, currently setting up to sell battery lawnmowers. Dubious? Ducks off a water-rat’s back.

Do I know what I am talking about? Of course not. With that track record, wouldn’t you be scatter-brained?

How true is my “story?” It is not a story, it is simply a slightly different way of looking at the oilfield reserve and depletion rate data that litters the net. See Google or if, as some apparently do, you think that is run by the CIA, see any search engine you fancy. The peak of oil production is one way to look at the reality. When we cannot get any oil derivatives is another and is perhaps more useful. Hence the concept of oilout.

Is the oil going to run out? Is sunrise a mythical concept?

When? That is the question. It needs deep thought; perhaps the answer is 42. Forty-two what, we have not yet worked out. Hence the debate. What’s to do? Ditto. Start date? Asap. Is this a real problem? Was Tamurlane ever a problem to anyone?

If two-thirds of America's oil is still in the ground, why is the US buying so much Arab oil, since oil money, apart from a few poppies, is the main source of funds for those who really don't like the reincarnation of mad king George? Seems a bit daft, to me. Just wind up the old Texas oilfields, or whatever. End of Osama ben Bush. Or is it Fitzbush, I forget?

Hooroo.

From Peter and Fish the three-legged white dingodog, at the Closeburn Signal Station.

Now if you wish to also investigate Fish, go for your life, but you will soon be treading in very curious waters, for Fish is a fully accredited bunyip inspector. Start at Is climate change linked to geomagnetic changes? | and then follow his tracks around the great sky tree, if you have the right sort of lens. I did say he's a white dingodog, didn’t I?
