For those who practice good "green" alternataives today is a day to reflect and feel good about your choices.
For those not enlighten is a day that hopefully they take a moment and think what can one person do and start making changes and a difference. Taking a few minutes of your day to talk to one person and get them to make some changes.
For the media a frenzie that hopefully motivates people.
Our town does alot they offer tours of the dump and show how they are recycling and what is going on. It really is an informative tour. Our city hall gives out local plants and trees and info on green alterntives. The parks have events to involve families.
I am older and I see the change that has happened. During the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's we became not very earth friendly. I see 2000 a change and people are trying to make a change.
