I think solar thermal is one of the best new ways of capturing renewable energy.
It resolves one of the single biggest obstacles for renewables - variability of supply. Energy storage is the key, in my opinion. Think of hydro. It is mature technology. There is variability of supply but the need for energy storage was understood and implemented - dams were built. More recent developments are beginning to address that need.

Perhaps one should see past it. There again, if they are trying to sell a product, or a new idea, shouldn't they take care to get the basic units right if they want to be taken seriously?

And storing 1000 litres of water at up to 200 degC in a domestic residence might be a challenge...would need a pressurised container....

As I said, I think solar thermal is a way forward for new renewables. But I'm not sure how well the Thermogen idea has been thought through.
