Basically though the more I find out about anything, the less sure I become. So I'm quite sure it's possible I'm wrong, in which case my life's work will all be for nothing, nothing I say.
I am fully behind "going green" after all ,I was one the first into the field, remember that I was one of the first to test the newer forms of lighting.Efficiency and cleaning up pollution go hand in hand, permaculture and less harmful food production are important and your life's work will help to give us a cleaner future. But to claim that the current changes in our climate can be altered by buying a prious is a form of madness. If you look closely at my photo of the raised beaches you will see two lines of cockle shells, one from the end of the last ice age, then comes the Younger Dryas and later more shells, the story of climate is all in our geological record.

I don't really get why people have got so aerated about this thread though. It's good to be challenged on your beliefs. It's good to discuss them with someone who disagrees, so long as you can have a sensible and reasonably polite discussion. Isn't it?
Bless them, they provide a little light relief and it keeps them from doing harm elsewhere
