Perhaps using the word scam is wrong Claire,but there are many chancers who have climbed on to the bandwagon for many different reasons and distorted the whole story.I had the pleasure of talking to some 16 year olds who had just given a half baked geography teacher a good roasting for trying to bullshit them about global warming,luck for him the hockey stick was not a real one.Problem with that is the teacher was trotting out the official line and was not allowing any view which did not agree with this,collectively the young people had more knowledge than he did.In addition some of them had seen the counter to Gores cartoon and were not impressed with the one sided approach
And here is the nub of the vexed question,smart arses treating everyone who dares to question their dubious theories as somehow stupid or childish just as that boring Wombat person did above.And be certain of this,global warming is all about theory and conjecture and unproven hypothesis.NO body can or should make decisions to waste millions on guesswork.
