Thanks Forfi, for making me think. I don't believe climate change is a hoax, but I have to admit that I'm not sure why I think that. Basically any attempt to decide either way appears to me to be an attempt to second-guess the behaviour of an unbelievably complex system.
I do think that a large number of very eminent people who seem to me to be quite sensible are saying that this is happening, and I don't buy into the conspiracy theories about funding etc. being dependent on buying into the theories.
I also think that there are a lot of business opportunities in reducing emissions - reducing energy use will, if done in a sensible way, offer opportunities for becoming more efficient as a business and with energy costs as they are, it makes sound business sense to reduce waste of energy.
Basically though the more I find out about anything, the less sure I become. So I'm quite sure it's possible I'm wrong, in which case my life's work will all be for nothing, nothing I say.
I don't really get why people have got so aerated about this thread though. It's good to be challenged on your beliefs. It's good to discuss them with someone who disagrees, so long as you can have a sensible and reasonably polite discussion. Isn't it?
