Aquaman, You are correct that in Canada they regulate novel traits in crops. This is different to most other countries that only regulate genetically-engineered crops, ignoring conventionally bred crops with novel traits. This does not mean that the rest of the world views them as GM crops in international trade. Canada has not attempted to segregate GM from non GM and therefore, the whole lot is sold as GM on the world market.
