The sad part about organic definitions is that they vary from country to country. For example, the Internation Olive Oil Council standards are not followed in the US. The US has its own age-old standards of grading olive oil, which were set in 1948.
Similarly, the standards for organic food cannot be implemented to each and every organic food item directly. for example, in organic coconut oil, some manufacturers sell virgin coconut oil and some sell extra virgin coconut oil. What is the difference? Does the USDA's NOP cover such specifics?
