Eclipse, If the mortgage companies fail, do we still have to pay the mortgage if they don't send a bill? I'm thinking they can't, and if the courts are overloaded, they can't do the bankruptcy paperwork. It is against the law for them to declare the balance due immediately. If people aren't making their payments in sufficient numbers, the legal foreclosure costs would bankrupt them(the mortgage companies).
