As Ivan was about to hit US Southeast, it was feared that Ivan would go right through New Orleans and the city would go under water(ok, flooding, probably the city wouldn't go under water). Good part of the city is under sea level if I understand correctly. Was the city ever completely flooded in the past? This is not the first time New Orleans feared a terrible disaster, right?
